I Pulled an Alejandro

Last week I was working, just doing my thing when my friend Alejandro arrived which he is also my co-worker.  He says hi and starts telling me that he normally parks his car in a place that is far from where we work.  It is free and he would rather walk than pay.  In the conversation he tells me that on the day before he was a little late for work so he decided to pay for parking near our working place.  After he finished working he started walking to where he normally leaves the car.  After a while he gets to this place and starts looking for his car. He gets a little worry because he does not find it. After a little while he remembers that he left his car close to work.  I started laughing out loud when he told me that. He thought it was funny too so he laughed too.  I work in two places, the same ones where he works.  On Sundays we work together on the other place. So on Sunday I’m on my way to work ,I get off the bus and start walking to where I work.  But when I get to the door and I am about to ring the bell so that someone would open the door to me.  I look to a door glass and I notice that I am at the wrong working place. So I ran to the other place because I was almost late.  When I get there Alejandro is already there and when I saw him I told him what just had happened.  I pulled an Alejandro and we started laghing.

World cups 2018 and 2022

This last Thursday December 2, FIFA announced the two countries that will host the World Cups on 2018 and 2022. The two countries are Russia for 2018 and Qatar for 2022.

For 2018, Russia beat countries like Spain and Portugal, which had plans of sharing the tournament.  The Nederlands and Belgium also with the same ideas of splitting the games in their stadiums, Russia and the ones that everyone thought were going to get it England.  England had been losing the chance to host the tournament since 2002 when they lost to Germany that hosted the tournament on 2006.  

Qatar, the country no one thought had a chance to win it.  The reason is that there were countries with a lot of financial facilities like Japan, USA, South Korea and Australia. Japan, South Korea and Australia lost on the first and second rounds. The final battle was Qatar and USA, and everyone including me thought that the FIFA World Cup on 2022 was going to be in USA since Qatar had or has to build all the stadiums, and the USA had them all already built.  At the end Qatar was announced to be the country that will host the tournament on 2022.  A lot of people were shocked by that.

Personally I don’t mind that Russia and Qatar got the chance to host the tournament.  A little disappointment because USA did not get it and were very close to get the chance.  For the arguments that FIFA told the press is that they want the tournament in countries that have never hosted the tournament before.   Which makes sense if that is the purpose of giving it to those countries that can and have the financial possibilities.  I am happier for Qatar because it will be the first Middle East country hosting the tournament. The temperatures in Qatar are going to be very, very high so that will be a problem.  if I had the decision in my hands I would have given it to USA.  But it was not in my hands all we can do is support the plan.

I wish I was 17 again

17 is the best age in our life, I believe it is because at this age we are still a minor, which means that your parents still have to pay for what ever we need.  At this age we feel adults, not quite there yet but we feel old enough to make our own decisions not always the right ones because somehow still innocents. At 17 we kind of start showing up late home and a sorry would fix all the trouble we would get into.  I don’t know about you guys but when I was 17 I wanted to be older I don’t know why, probably because the chick I was interested in liked older guys or I just wanted to be able to go to those fancy bars and nightclubs… I don’t really know.

Now that I am way older I want to go back to those days and make all the pranks I had in mind but always scare to do.  Ask that girl that I liked to go out but never did because at the time she seems to be into older guys to later find out that she had a crush on me too. Too shy or may be just too coward… don’t know but one thing I know now is that I see things a lot different from what I used to and able to do those things I couldn’t. I wish we all were 17 forever because as we get older we star noticing the responsibilities and adulthood are not fun anymore.

it is funny how when we are young we want to be older, and when we get older we wish to be young again.  All i can say is enjoy every moment in life, every second, every hour, every day, week, month and year.
